sWIMMING OFFICIAL DARLING DOWNS REGIONAL SWIMMING BLUE AND YELLOW SHIRT BLACK SHOES AND BL...ECK.jpg

Welcome to Officiating on the Darling Downs

Technical Officials are an integral part of swimming. They are a key component for swimmers to participate in, engage with and enjoy the sport of swimming. The DDRSA is actively seeking members to participate in the new officiating framework for the Region and have as many officials as possible in clubs to ensure that not only meets, but club nights as well, are run at the highest possible standard for our swimmers.

Below are the available modules of the Swimming Australia Website. A reminder that all participants starting their officiating journey must first :

  1. Have a current Blue Card linked to the Region

  2. Complete the Community Officiating Essential Skills Course (COES)

  3. Acquire a Technical Official membership with their Club

  4. Complete the SIA (Sport Integrity Australia) website modules:

  • Safeguarding Children and Young people in Sport

  • Competition Manipulation and Sport Gambling

  • Anti-Doping Fundamentals

  • Annual Update

Please complete the Technical Official Application form and use the drop down boxes to nominate for meets and a mentor will be appointed to you.

Meet allocations are based around individual preferences and availabilities. If your availability changes and you would like to increase (or decrease) the amount of meets you are able to attend, please contact the Chair of the Technical Official Mentoring and Assessing Committee. Assessments are only completed at Regional Championship Meets - training will occur at all other meets.
If your club would like an officials training session for parents at your club, please contact the Chair of the Technical Official Mentoring and Assessing Committee to discuss availability and dates. When training sessions are conducted, participants must bring their completed module with them so that their paperwork can be provided to the Assessors for discussion and appointment at a DDRSA Regional Championship meet.
